Glam House Caringbah does classic acrylic, colour powder acrylic and builder gel enhancements, each a 45 minute appointment finished in gel colour, from $65 to $80 a set on Port Hacking Road.
Three systems, one price list. Classic acrylic is clear acrylic finished in gel colour, from $65. Colour powder acrylic is the dip-style powder with colour built in, from $75. Builder gel is a thick, flexible gel cured under a lamp, from $80. All three take 45 minutes and are shaped to your hand.

Which enhancement should you book?
Pick by what you want the set to do. If you want length and a sculpted shape, almond, coffin or stiletto, classic acrylic is the workhorse. It sets hard, holds a long tip and takes 3D work, chrome and crystals well, which is why most of the sets in the gallery are acrylic underneath. If you want strength without much length, or your natural nails are thin and split, builder gel is the kinder choice. It cures under a lamp, flexes with the nail instead of against it, and grows out cleanly for an infill. Colour powder acrylic sits between the two: a dip powder with the colour already in it, so you skip a polish layer and get a dense, even colour that wears hard. Every option finishes in gel colour and takes about 45 minutes. If you are unsure, book either and say so at the chair. The artist will look at your nails and tell you straight.

How long does an acrylic or builder gel set last?
Expect three to four weeks before an infill or a new set, depending on how fast your nails grow and how you use your hands. Builder gel grows out a little more cleanly. Book removal or an infill rather than letting a lifted set catch on things.
Can I get length with builder gel?
Short to medium, yes. Builder gel is at its best as a strengthening overlay or with modest extensions. For long coffin or stiletto shapes, classic acrylic holds the length and the sculpted work better, and it is the base under most of the long sets in the gallery.
Is a colour included in the price?
Yes. Every enhancement is finished in gel colour and the from-price covers a single colour. French, ombre and cat eye are from $20 a set on top, and custom designs from $10 depending on the design. Removal of an old set is from $20 if you need it.
